  • NCAA president supports athletic stipends    In response to efforts by legislators in California, Nebraska and several other states to increase scholarships to college athletes so they reflect the complete cost of a year at college, the head of the NCAA has endorsed the idea of giving athletes an additional $2,000 to $3,000 a year.
