"Just having a bowl of cereal," he said. Hayes, the four-season standout for Kentucky basketball, didn't say if he was munching on the Breakfast of Champions. He didn't have to say that he'd gladly settle for the porridge of an NBA Draft pick.

  • Cats launch ticket drive for '70,000 Strong'    FOUR COMMERCIALS CELEBRATE LOYAL FAN BASE; PULLEY NOT ONLY BLUEGRASS QB IN LINE TO PLAYThe fall season ticket campaign is under way, with the new UK football commercials already appearing on the tube. The promotion, titled "70,000 Strong," includes four sets of commercials, one featuring Wildcats receiver Tommy Cook and three others starring select UK fans.

  • Guardians Classic coming to Rupp    CATS ONE OF FOUR HOSTS FOR TOURNEY    The University of Kentucky will play host to first- and second-round games in the 16-team Guardians Classic men's basketball tournament in November.
  • Syracuse ends UK's attendance streak     Syracuse has ended Kentucky's nine-year run as the leader in men's basketball attendance. The Orange averaged 22,978 a game in the Carrier Dome last season, beating Kentucky's average attendance of 22,520. NCAA champion North Carolina was third at 20,522 and Louisville was fourth at 18,746, according to figures released in this week's NCAA News.

  • Bear’s Boys Reunion Set for Friday and Saturday     All-America quarterback Vito “Babe” Parilli, All-America end Steve Meilinger, and NFL legend George Blanda are among the “Bear’s Boys” group of Kentucky football alumni who are having a reunion Friday and Saturday, June 24-25, in Lexington.

  • Morris won't return to UK    Center keeps name in for Tuesday's draft    The mystery is over for Randolph Morris. He's headed to the NBA. Morris' high school coach Bryan Bartley said last night that Morris, who played one year for the University of Kentucky, has kept his name in the NBA Draft, forgoing his final three years of college eligibility.
  • UK's Morris opts to remain in the draft    University of Kentucky center Randolph Morris will be staying in the National Basketball Association draft. SFX, a sports agency that has been advising Morris, released a statement last night on Morris' behalf saying he will not return to UK for his sophomore year.
  • Morris chooses pro draft over UK    Randolph Morris won't be in a University of Kentucky uniform next season. The 6-foot-10 center, who averaged 8.8 points per game and 4.2 rebounds per game in 19.8 minutes as a freshman last season has decided to remain in the NBA draft pool according to his father, Ralph Morris.

  • WKYT-TV 27 in Lexington announced on the 6 o'clock news this evening that Randolph Morris will not be coming back to UK this Fall and will take his chances in the draft.
  • RANDOLPH MORRIS TO LEAVE UK FOR THE NBA   According to Ralph Morris, father of UK Freshman Randolph Morris, Morris will keep his name in this year's NBA Draft, ending his career at UK. 
  • It's deadline day for Morris    Today marks the deadline for University of Kentucky center Randolph Morris to make a decision about his basketball future. Morris, who has declared for next Tuesday's NBA Draft, has until 5 p.m. today to remove his name from the draft.
  • Rondo to Vie for 2005 U21 National Team Spot     Kentucky rising sophomore Rajon Rondo will be among 21 players competing for a spot on the USA Basketball Men’s Under-21 National Team during the organizations tryouts July 21-23 in Dallas, Texas. The trials will be used to select the final 12-member team that will travel to Mar De Plata, Argentina, Aug. 5-14, to vie for the 2005 FIBA U21 World Championship.

  • Mystery tour takes new turn: Morris a no-show    It is not believed that Randolph Morris has entered the witness-protection program, but the mystery surrounding his National Basketball Association draft status reached new heights yesterday when he failed to show up for the league's predraft camp.
  • UK's Hayes says he wants 'to let time heal wound'     Former University of Kentucky basketball player Chuck Hayes wants to continue calling Lexington home, but he admitted yesterday that it's nice to get away for a few days.
  • Hayes stands tall     A few hundred miles and a weeks removed from an off-court incident Chuck Hayes has put behind him, the former University of Kentucky forward was happy to talk about more pleasant issues such as basketball, his re-sculpted body and his much questioned height.
  • Groin injury sidelines Azubuike     A pulled groin muscle prevented former University of Kentucky guard Kelenna Azubuike from participating in the first day of the NBA pre-draft camp that started Tuesday evening at the Moody Bible Institute.
