facility yesterday. The UK Athletics Association Board of Directors
formally approved the project and a plan to pay its $27.5 million
price tag for construction. Final approval must come from UK Board
of Trustees, presumably at its May 10 meeting. That will set in
motion a timetable that calls for construction to begin this summer
and an October 2006 opening coinciding with Big Blue Madness next
door...

facility to use as early as October 2006 under a funding plan
approved Tuesday by the university's Athletic Association board.
