• Secret's out: Hood commits to Cats     6-7 MADISONVILLE JUNIOR COULDN'T KEEP QUIET ANYMORE     Madisonville basketball star Jon Hood did his best to keep it a secret after he committed to Kentucky a couple of weeks ago. On his way to the King James Shooting Stars Classic in Akron, Ohio, the last week of April, he stopped in Lexington and met with UK Coach Billy Gillispie.

• Cats pass NCAA's academic test     All 22 of the University of Kentucky sports teams surpassed the target score in the NCAA's fourth annual Academic Progress Rate report, and thirteen of the school's 22 programs exceeded the national average for public universities in their sports.

• Wilkes' 8 RBIs fuel Cats, 21-3     Ryan Wilkes homered from both side of the plate, finishing 5 for 6 with a career-high eight RBIs as the University of Kentucky's No. 22-ranked baseball team spanked visiting Wright State 21-3 last night.
• Cats' bats unstoppable against Raiders    Senior second baseman Ryan Wilkes homered from both sides of the plate, finishing 5-for-6 with a career-high eight RBI, as the No. 22 Kentucky Wildcats pummeled the Wright State Raiders 21-3, with a season-high 23 hits Tuesday at Cliff Hagan Stadium.
